Do Lions Smell Bad In Captivity?
The scent of a big cat varies depending on the environment it’s living in. For instance, lions in the wild have a musty, earthy smell whereas lions in captivity are more likely to have an ammonia-like body odor because they are not exposed to the same dirt and plants that they would be if they are out in the open wild.
This is the reason that lions in captivity that you see in zoo smell lesser than the ones in the wild.
How Does A Lion’s Breath Smell Like?
Lions do have bad breath as they are carnivores and eat the meat of other animals to survive. When they consume meat, the bacteria from the meat gets into their mouth and stomach.
